The second generation Toyota Tacoma (August 2004-August 2005) was unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show on February 3, 2003. Then at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the third generation Toyota Tacoma (September 2015-present) debuted. It now is available in 5 trims including base SR, mid-level SR5, TRD Off Road, TRD Sport and range topping Limited. It still has two engine options other than the 2.7 L engine from previous generation, it now adds a new 3.5 L 278 hp 2GR-FKS V6 engine. Engines are mated to 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmissions and 6-speed automatic transmission.
